So, if you have been wondering where in the world I have been....moving from one city to another is where! It may seem like a fairly simple thing, just 80 miles up the road but...no, not quite! It is a really awesome adventure though! I love meeting new people and moving to a new area gives me the opportunity to meet new people and learn the culture of that city. Each city has its own language and style. Each city has its pros, cons and an individuality unlike any other.
My time has been spent in getting settled, meeting new people, getting used to the new culture of the area, and starting my Real Estate business here in Montecito with Sotheby's. This is an industry I am very familiar with and am very skilled in. As I become more settled, I will again be moving more forward into the health and fitness arena. Stay tuned!
One of the interesting results of moving, not once, but twice within a year, is how much you can learn about yourself and grow. The resilience and resources one finds within when faced with a challenge such as a move, are astounding. As a once, very shy person (for those of you who know me, don't laugh...I know you think that I am making this up but I am not!), I realized the importance of getting out and meeting people. This can be a bit frightening at first, but as I engaged more frequently in social events and networking opportunities, my fears of meeting people greatly diminished. As these fears subsided, my confidence grew as well as my self esteem. Now, I am able to speak to anyone, at anytime with ease, grace and comfort!
I don't believe that it is necessary to move cross country, like I did, to gain this same knowledge. You can do this right where you currently live by taking some risks, going to new places by yourself, seeking new clubs, social events and venues and by getting out of your comfort zone. You may just find a whole world of opportunity in your backyard that before had never existed in your world.
Until next time~happy socializing!
